Valley Oak Homes is a 43-unit affordable rental project that will be constructed on the 2.07 acre vacant site located at 19344 Sonoma Highway in the City of Sonoma, California. The project is new construction and designed with the goal of creating a vibrant family community within an environmentally sustainable development. The project will serve low to extremely low income families, with incomes at or below 50% Area Median Income.

The site plan of the development was inspired by Sonoma’s rich history of the town square with a public commons. AHA has prioritized the provision of community space for residents by creating a large common open space fronting a clubhouse with a common terrace. The clubhouse acts as the community hub for the seven residential buildings and includes a multipurpose room with a common kitchen, public gathering space, a homework/computer room, a tenant services office, and a resident manager office. A community garden and bicycle parking is also included to bring residents together and encourage healthy living. The concept for Valley Oak Homes in the City of Sonoma will exemplify AHA’s high quality design approach and showcase Sonoma’s commitment to environmental sustainability. From the site planning to the finish materials, every effort will be made to use design strategies, building systems, and materials that make long-lasting, resource-efficient, and healthy homes that complement the neighborhood and natural environment where they are built.
